第一次 进藏
1998年4月 我在中国美术馆举办“错位”的个展。
5月 我带上一套缩小的作品系列，到了西藏拉萨，桑耶寺，山南藏王墓。高原的山峦和河流使我体验到归宿感。我开始涂抹小石块，体验着像儿时玩游戏一样的感觉……

 

First Trip into Tibet

April 1998
I had my solo exhibition, “The World of Sliding,” at the China Museum of Fine Arts.

I brought a small set of works with me to Lhasa, the Samye Monastary, and the Shannan King’s Tomb in Tibet. The plateaus, mountains, and rivers made me feel a sense of belonging. I started to paint pebbles, which reminded me of a children’s game.

 

第二次进藏
1998年7月 我搭乘载货卡车沿川藏线进藏。
这一路据驾驶员小黄师傅说，他开川藏线八年来所有的不顺都遇上了：发洪水、塌方、堵车、遭窃、撞车。我的行李也在晚上翻二郎山时被盗窃。然而当通过艰难的旅途到达目的地昌都时我再次获得心灵的平静，川藏公路连接了都市到自然的两极，在通往两极的延伸中，卡车房子再现着人类向原始进发的过程。流动彩虹作品计划初步呈现。

Second Trip into Tibet

I took a freight truck into Tibet along the Sichuan-Tibet highway this time. My driver, Xiao Huang, faced all kinds of trouble in his eight years driving along this highway: floods, landslides, traffic jams, theft, accidents. At Erlang Mountain, my luggage was stolen in the night. When we finally arrived at Qamdo, however, I felt at peace again. The Sichuan-Tibetan highway connects two poles of city and nature. Stretching across these two poles, the truck stops along the way represented the process of humanity’s return to nature. The Moving Rainbow project was beginning to take form.

 

第三次进藏
1998年10月 我和摄影艺术家罗永进经雅安、天全、翻二郎山、到泸定、康定、道孚。
在全程七百公里的川藏沿线开始制作流动彩虹系列的房子和卡车进山出山的作品。
